California-based sculptor/visual artist Randy Hage channeled his interest in the old businesses and iconic buildings of old-school New York into creating incredibly lifelike, detail-oriented miniature versions of some very classic storefronts. They’re beautiful, respectful renditions and especially important as some of these storefronts are in danger of disappearing altogether. And while his version of the Mars Bar is no substitute for the existence of the real thing, it’s a small comfort knowing the spirit of the place will live on.

If you’re in Pasadena, check out the exhibit at Flower Pepper Gallery before it ends tomorrow, and watch the short clip above of Hage discussing his work along with some footage of his creations that helps provide a better sense of scale.
