As the highly-anticipated new Animal Collective full-length gets set to drop on the 20th, now’s the time to revisit the trippy cover art, unveiled in October.

No, it’s not a .gif. No, it’s not actually moving. Focus your eye on one point and the movement stops.

Word from the frustrated cover designer, direct to Idolator:

“Neither weed nor Photoshop were used in the creation of the cover. Say what you will about the aesthetics of the cover—I could care less about that—but the idea that one could light up a joint and make that cover happen in Photoshop shows a total lack of understanding of both weed and the Adobe suite of software. Seriously: try it and get back to me.”

And about the music? Click over to the Animal Collective Myspace to stream ‘My Girls,’ a  remarkably poppy anthem purported to be one of the best on the album.
