For the die-hard collector, lock eyes on this new collaboration from the Justice/Ed Banger camp.
First things first: the Panasonic Lumix G1 is a load of innovation in a compact bundle. Prior to the production of this little wonder, Panasonic announced their development of the Micro Four-Thirds standard. Now this new development has been incorporated into the G1, resulting in DSLR-level quality from a lighter, smaller body.
The Justice/Busy P contribution to this limited release of the Lumix G1 is a Pedro Winter signature on the side along with a “roll” of 200 digital pictures he took while on this year’s Justice World Tour. Consider it the All-Access Pass you never would have gotten. For that, you might happily pay the premium at Colette, Parisian boutique and all-around curator of cool.
On the side: Justice are no strangers to the non-musical collab, having already turned out a stylish project with the help of NYC-Paris art collective Surface to Air. The leather jackets that sprung from this partnership, expensive as they were, struck me as affordable — at least when seen as alternatives to the Dior Homme leathers regularly seen on the duo and seemingly used as reference points for the S2A/Justice line.
So, this is the question: have they done enough with the Lumix, regularly priced at around 800, to justify the markup? What do you think?
