Gommi Arcade x Nooka x AC Gears

Come to the party! We’re hosting the Gommi Arcade x Nooka launch event at our Greenwich store where they’ll be debuting the Gommi collaboration Zub Zot model Nooka watch. This will also serve as opening night for the pop-up Gommi Arcade shop and art installation that will be in AC Gears Greenwich through the end [...]

Spike Jonze and Opening Ceremony

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony are true tastemakers. With stores in LA and Tokyo, the real heart of OC seems to be in New York (where, inside the Ace Hotel, they’ve recently unveiled their second NYC store). Leon and Lim have done much for young designers and emerging brands, introducing Japanese and [...]

Genki Rockets – Hologram Singer

Ever since their debut in 2006, their hit song Heavenly Star has stucked in my head from time to time whenever I played Lumines on my PSP. When will Lumi, the famed fictional hologramed Japanese singer, with her beautiful, but sampled and digitized voice, release her next album? Avatar has made 3D movies [...]

Void Lights by Tom Dixon

These spun metal lights are from the office of Tom Dixon, who will be showing them in Milan this spring. The fact that they look vaguely donut-shaped (sort of like this Naoto Fukasawa design) works for me, and then some.
The lights will be available in solid copper, stainless steel and brass.

Goldfrapp – Rocket

Goldfrapp is back! I’m loving the video for new single “Rocket” in which Alison Goldfrapp takes an ex-lover for a leisurely drive through some seriously psychedelic terrain; except, no, not so leisurely because he’s all covered in tape sort of weirdo bondage style and, guess what, the truck she’s driving is lugging around a huge [...]

Chinese Storybooks

This is decidedly non-tech/style, but I’m feeling nostalgic today and happened to stumble across some storybooks that had been a huge part of my childhood. These are all bonafide classics, though you might not be as familiar with them as, say, Where the Wild Things Are (now out on DVD/Blu-Ray, by the way!) or Cloudy [...]
