Photographer Atom Moore turns his personal watch obsession into mesmerizing pieces of art with his series of “Watch Portraits,” which has been on display at New York’s Sacred Gallery through September, closing tonight.
From the NY Times:
“One technique that Mr. Moore champions is ‘mash-up’ photography, composites of his photos. One, for example, has different colored bezels from vintage watches of the same model, displayed as a series of circles, one inside the other.”
Moore concentrates his camera on the little intricacies of watch design, showing the wide range of mechanical beauty incorporated into classic timepieces.
His macro photography, celebrating the wide range of vintage watches that capture the imaginations of all manner of watch enthusiasts, is also collected in a new book, “Watch Portraits,” available for $150.
