Who hasn’t wondered, at some point or another, what it would be like to meet your past self?

Japanese photographer Chino Otsuka has taken that journey. ‘Imagine Finding Me’ is a series of photographs that explores her personal past through digital photo manipulation. The photographs of the present-day Otsuka alongside her much younger self are incredibly nostalgia-inducing.

Otsuka says of the series, “The┬ádigital process becomes a tool, almost like a time machine, as I’m embarking on the journey to where I once belonged and at the same time becoming a tourist in my own history.”

Feeling intimately tied to, yet strangely alienated from your past? If her intention was to capture that feeling in an image, she nailed it.
