The Journal of Popular Noise
The Journal of Popular Noise bills itself as an “audio magazine.” Every ‘issue’ gives participating musicians a set of rules to go by, which are open to interpretation, along with a curious-looking chart.
The issues come out on vinyl, and I love the defiance of that, acting out of total disregard for those who would declare print publications and vinyl records dead mediums. You can find the Journal at select stores in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago. Check the site for a list of distributors and keep your eyes out for the latest issue.
