Lissy Trullie’s out making her own waves, but that doesn’t mean she can’t win hearts with a cover. From a while back at Santos Party House with Adam Green of the Moldy Peaches covering Biz Markie’s ‘Just a Friend.’

Seems like any time a blond-haired girl in NYC gets a haircut, she’s the rebirth of the Warhol muse. It’s gotten hard to swallow five or six Edie Sedgwicks at a time. Even when they shine with this much style…

But with Fabien Baron, Glenn O’Brien and Christopher Bollen currently saving Andy’s Interview, maybe the timing’s right.

Maybe the glory days are back.

Factory girl, Factory girl, Factory girl.

Listen to a few off of Lissy’s EP ‘Self-Taught Learner’ and you’ll catch yourself thinking it, too. Try the title track:

‘Are you watching me? Am I different, or am I the same?’

And, on the subject of Lissy covers, don’t miss her kicked-up version of Hot Chip’s ‘Ready for the Floor,’ one you can stream off her Myspace. This feels like New York City.
